Recipe for 4 people
Dough:
- 500 g flour
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 2.5 tablespoons sugar
- 5 ml olive oil
- 5 g yeast
- 250 ml lukewarm water
Zaatar-Olive Oil Mixture:
- 50 g zaatar
- 90 ml olive oil
Preparation:
1. First dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Then put the flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.Add the dissolved yeast and olive oil to the bowl. Mix all the ingredients and knead until an elastic dough is formed. Now form the dough into small balls, brush with a little olive oil and keep in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. Leave to rise for at least 30 minutes (60 minutes for better results).
2. Mix zaatar and olive oil.
3. Roll out the risen ball on a floured work surface until round. Finally, pull the dough a little further apart and use your fingertips to form small indentations all over the surface.
4. Now brush the dough generously with the zaatar olive oil mixture.5. bake the Man'oushe in the oven at 200°C top and bottom heat for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
*Tip: Serve the Man'oushe with mint, snack cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives and labneh.
