Wild Thyme Produced Gently

Zaatar is an aromatic blend of wild thyme, toasted sesame seeds, sumac and salt. It is  full of flavor and powerful antioxidants. Our blend is prepared according to Lebanese traditions. In the south of Lebanon, our thyme is collected by hand before being carefully beaten on a cushion with a mortar. The freshly dried thyme finally finds its way to Switzerland. Here, our sesame seeds are freshly hand-roasted, adding the finishing touch to the authentic Lebanese Zaatar spice blend.

Taste

Our thyme offers an intense and earthy aroma, our sumac brings a fresh citrus flavor into the mix and the roasted sesame adds a nutty note to the Zaatar. As a bonus, our sesame content is significantly higher than in conventional blends. You will see, it gives the Zaatar that special something.

Food Pairing

Classically, Zaatar is mixed with olive oil and spread on pita bread prior to baking.  Zaatar also adds a signature tangy flavor to meat marinades, salad dressings, or dipping sauces. Or what about sprinkling a little Zaatar on your popcorn? There's no limit to your culinary creativity with Zaatar.
